Brief Bio

Tim has focused his practice on intellectual property law for over eighteen years and works with clients to develop strategic intellectual property portfolios. Tim’s practice includes drafting and prosecuting both domestic and foreign patent and trademark applications, conducting patentability analyses, conducting patent and trademark searches, performing trademark clearance opinions, performing freedom to operate opinions, and working with clients to license technology. His clients span the entrepreneurial spectrum, including start-ups and large corporations, and a large portion of his patent practice is devoted to medical and mechanical devices.

Personal Statement

I am actively involved in many organizations that contribute to the development of the entrepreneurial spirit that is currently growing at a rapid pace in our region. In addition, I have been a member of the Board of Directors at the Toledo School for the Arts and the Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts. I consider these institutions to be some of the greatest assets of the Midwest. I am married to my best friend and have two talented children. I love being a dad and understand that striking a balance between career and life at home is a necessity. I am a jeans and sports coat kind of guy and enjoy personal relationships. My favorite quote is “the more you learn, the less you know.” I love football and my hobbies are astronomy and playing guitar. My favorite guitar player is Stevie Ray Vaughan.
